Club Championship and Presidents Cup 24-25 June 2017

The 36 hole Club Championship and President’s Cup will be held over the weekend 24-25th June with 18 holes being played on each day.  This arrangement will allow for maximum participation given the significant increase in club membership over the last year.  The maximum handicap allowance is 18, i.e. handicaps 19 and above will play off 18.

A Captain’s Plate competition will be run on Sunday in conjunction with the Club Championship/President’s Cup as an incentive for those who might think it’s not worth turning up on Sunday because they have played themselves out of both competitions on Saturday.  Those players placed in the top three of the Club Championship and/or President’s Cup after 36 holes will not be eligible for the Captain’s Plate.  The winner of the Captain’s Plate will be the player returning the best net score on Sunday only.  The winner will receive a trophy and pro shop voucher.  The Plate competition will not be included in the optional sweep.

Entry to the Club Championship/President’s Cup should be via COBRA or in the Pro Shop.  The entry fee for both days will be payable in the Pro Shop on Saturday when collecting score cards.  Entry to the Captain’s Plate will be automatic and is included in the entry fee.  Closing date for entries is Wednesday 21 June 2017.

First tee off on both days will be 8.00am and the course will be closed on both days until 2.30pm.

Tee times on Saturday 24th June for all category players will be in descending order, i.e. highest handicaps away first.  Category 2, 3 and 4 tee times on Sunday 25th June will remain the same, along with playing partners in descending order as for Saturday.  Category 1 tee times will be based on Saturday’s results, with the lowest gross score out last.

Tee times for both days (less Category 1 players on Sunday) will be notified on Thursday 22 June.

Finally, members are reminded the President’s Cup carries a 50% Order of Merit points boost.
