Upon returning the completed application form, suitable applicants will be invited along for an interview and informal chat with the Club Captain/Lady Captain who will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
Do I have to have a registered handicap to join?
No. If you do currently hold an up to date handicap certificate we would ask you to send a copy along with your application. Applicants without a handicap will be required to see the Professional for an assessment of playing ability, before the application can be processed. (A fee is charged for the 4 hole playing assessment).
What if I dont know a Member to Propose or Second my application?
If you know a current LGC Member who is happy to support your application, please get him/her to endorse the form accordingly. If not, a letter of introduction from the Secretary of your current club must accompany the form. If you do not belong to another club at present, please don't worry as each application is reviewed on its own merit.
How long will I have to wait to be invited for an interview?
This varies depending on the number waiting to join the club. We do try to see prospective members in the month following their application but processing may be done much quicker if we have a lesser number applying.
When can I join?
Successful applicants will be invited to join from the 1st day of the month following their interview, or at a later date to suit their own situation. Pro rata payments are to be paid for new members joining through the course of the calendar year.
